I told you before to take the 1K profit at 4089 in your swing. You took a loss and flipped, and are now looking at 3K net profit on your short. Dude, take the PROFIT NOW! I think he was referring to leverage.I've included that to show (for those who don't know ES) how much you can lose per lot. How many lots I've actually traded isn't debatable. Sorry
If you trade 10 ES contracts with a 30k$ account you would have lost 100% of you account - OUCH.
With a 200k$ account that would have been a 15% loss - NOT THAT BAD.
My first reaction to your post is "why are trying to swing trade a day trading instrument?"Did you ever think it was not dangerous, especially in this current rollercoaster environment?Seriously, I really did try my best to swing for at least a few days, but I ended up losing big time...like the 60 point loss in ES today (that's $3,000 per contract) and I have no friggin' idea where I screwed up. I imagined 60 points should be more than wide enough to cushion any blows. But hell no.
Please don't tell me to tighten my stop. If I use a tighter stop, you might as well tell me to just go back to day trading.
Try it with individual stocks you don't mind holding for much longer periods.
i scalp during fomc meeting today and made $575 so far.
First, I should clarify that I got stopped out of the trailing stop and made 46 points.
On second thought, I shouldn't have listened to @Overnight and left the trade alone.
I think ES will eventually move down to my original target, which was 3950, and that would be another 57 points left on the table. GrrrI was thinking the same thing when this thread began... why would schizo think the grass is greener elsewhere? What reasons would lead to questioning the self-developed knowledge and processes of a successful trading style or methods? Mind-boggling. Honing and enhancing existing skills makes for even greener grass!
And @schizo... be very careful of who you take advise from. Overnight has trouble trading his way out of a paper bag! Isn't he currently long and an atmosphere or two underwater right now? Im sure I'll now be attacked for not posting my trades or whatever, so who am I to call out anyone? Well tuff poop and boo-hoo.
