It is so easier to just dismiss what we don’t agree with as being invalid. But the way life is sometimes we need to hear what we don’t want to hear to accept reality and better ourselves. In other words, sometimes we NEED to be provoked. In communication when a person gets provoked they are HEARING and engaging the communicator or the message or both. But if they are chewing juicy fruit gum, looking around and polishing nails or doodling on a paper they are not engaged. Usually.Funny... This immediatly makes this image come to mind:

I personally put nobody "on ignore"... I'm not in favor of any kind of censorship and I have no problem in reading or listening to any opinion, no matter how they may differ from mine...
If someone needs to "not read or hear" some opinion, this probably means a high level of immaturity or insecurity regarding one's own opinions.
I can simply read it and dismiss it, if I don't think it is worth responding to, but refrain from seeing or hearing something, that I would never do... So, in that sense, the number of people one ignores can probably be a great measure of the resemblance to the immaturity and insecurity represented in the picture above.![]()
If I read and dismiss ,it means I have nothing to talk about with this user. Then why spend time the next time even reading or responding. Ignoring or blocking is a time management technique. There are a lot of people that I do not need and I am sure they do not need me.I can simply read it and dismiss it, if I don't think it is worth responding to, but refrain from seeing or hearing something, that I would never do...
That is one way of looking at it... But I suspect that most people here don't read whole threads most of the time and at the same time they don't ignore most people too... So, in practice, they(like I do) normally know in very few lines if they think it is worth reading a post or not by simply scrolling through them... That is the main "time saving tool" most here probably use, because it applies to posts and not people...If I read and dismiss ,it means I have nothing to talk about with this user. And I can always use the "scroll in a few lines" technique with them too...

Plus, I've seen people with opinions I agree with in one subject have opinions that I consider stupid about other subjects... That is why I think it is better to consider "POSTS" and not "PEOPLE"...
I admit that there are some people here I consider complete morons with probably not one single intelligent post to their names, but this is a very short list to me and even these is sometimes fun to watch drowning in their own stupidity...And I can always use the "scroll in a few lines" technique with them too...
