Who needs the federal reserve?

I stand corrected, piezoe. Sorry 'bout that.

Please, where could I peruse the income statement and balance sheet for the overarching Federal Reserve System in toto, not the member banks? Website address would be groovy. How far back in time do the reports go? How often are they posted?

Thanks
As a rather extreme understatement, i would say the financial data of the U.S. Government is voluminous. Start here: federalreserve.gov which will give a broad overview. then proceed to federalreserve.gov/apps/fof which is the financial accounts guide.

Then proceed to federalreserve.gov/data.htm

Under which see "financial accounts of the United states"
Then proceed to federalreserve.gov/release/z1/current/default.htm

This is the latest quarter available that is complete and on line. It's Q1 of 2019.
All prior data is archived and also available.

Current transactions of the Fed are also posted elsewhere and a little snooping on the Fed sites will turn them up. Ditto for the Treasury . Studying both the Treasury and Fed balance sheets side by side and then in consolidation will convince even the most hardened flat-earth-deep-state-er that the two operations, Fed and Treasury, are really one big , coordinated operation.

A century or so of the great work of Central Banks is here:

I suggest you watch that before you spout off at the mouth.

Those cartoon characters have some good points;
except plenty of food prices have gone down; if you watch for price trends in food. Sure the gas sellers are trying to gap up gas around JULY 4th,LOL= old pattern.

BUT no one can really blame FED for ACA [Affordable Care Act LOL]TRAINWRECK, or overpriced college costs/gov loans, both of which are caused by '' central gov'' +people having no deductible insurance/common sense=================================================================================And dont forget about all the things the FED got right; not really bailing out BEAR Stearns, not bailing out LEHMAN+ limits/chains on WFC..........:cool::cool:

Food prices have not really gone down. For example, I used to buy these expensive hot dogs that are supposedly less susceptible to inflation pressures but at some point last year, the entire company started packaging less meats across the whole line for the same price.

Crap food, sure, it has gone down. But that's because they increase the proportion of crap while keeping the calories the same.

A Serious Warning / Gentle Reminder (not sure how to characterize it exactly :D).

Disbelieve me at your own peril.

If you ever find yourself in a situation where you must file a lawsuit to recover damages for an injury caused by an employee / executive / director of one of the Federal Reserve Banks in the course of discharging his official duties, make damn sure that you file the lawsuit against the bank itself and not the US government.

If the guy works for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, file the suit against that bank. Don't sue the Federal Reserve Board in Washington D.C., or the Federal Reserve Bank in New York; don't sue the US government, or the State of Illinois, or the City of Chicago. And make damn sure that you follow various deadlines applicable to a private institution, and not the US, state, or local government. If your lawyer says otherwise, fire him immediately. Or you can kiss your case and money goodbye.

The Fed is NOT an arm, agency, department, commission, administration, bureau, authority or institution of the federal government. It's a private entity.

I'm not surprised that so many traders here are mistaking the Fed as part of the federal government. The name "Federal Reserve" was specifically chosen to mislead and deceive. Even many high ranking government officials, prominent lawyers, and senior Federal Reserve executives have embarrassed themselves over the years about the real identity of the Fed. Of course, they could have been deliberately lying about it.

Somebody's got serrrrrrrrious issues.
WoooooooooooWOW. WOW. WOWIE wow-wow.
or, going the "Whoa!" route......

Tell me something I don't know. :D:D

I'm sure it's not something you cannot handle as a trader.

All issues related to / arisen from the Federal Reserve are serious issues. Some have been serious enough to make prominent people die early.

OK, N-mcnoob;
big difference between food + factory food [hot dogs ]LOL Actually my comments did not apply to junk food- i seldom keep up with that junk........I did see KRAFT in WSJ, raise prices on manufactured food ;but investors hit them hard down for that .

And then there are plenty non advertised markdowns, food . Big difference between stores + locations.Eggs went down 50% past 50 days; i get my eggs off the farm .

But even this egg price 50% markdown comment ,applied to commercial eggs/store bought eggs.:cool::cool:,:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

Not here. Organic eggs have gone up in price. Sounds like you live in a low cost of living area?

Mostly;
TN. My pet hens give me organic eggs mostly . NOT 100%, i feed them Purina , TSC , or Co-op feed LOL. I make sure not to shop @ Whole Foods-they say it takes your whole paycheck.:D:D, :D:D:D:D:D

Right, so you wouldn't see food inflation as readily.

Partly true.
I bought plenty of ETFs @ 52 week highs + glad to do that sometimes.
BUT for food that's very different. It's like the hedge fund manager Victor S said + I don't think he lives in a cheap food area?? He noted for an old example= when he sees a head of lettuce priced @$1.00 + then later its priced over $1.00,LOL, he does NOT pay up.

So you/ any has to be able to walk away from overpriced stuff. So seeing overpriced food + buying it is 2 very different outcomes. Thanks.I like that,$4 or $5 [retail]whole grain/multigrain bread= not that I pay anything close to that...……………………………………………………….
