Who is worse, Bergdahl or Trump, the deserter or the war dodger?

We all know that Trump called Bergdahl a "traitor" and suggested execution.

Bergdahl was born in March 1986.

Bergdahl, a volunteer who certainly screwed up and he made bad decisions which snowballed however he has admitted fault. It seems the Coast Guard spotted something the Army missed.

Trump went to a military school, rose through the ranks and used an obviously spurious excuse of *'bone spurs'.

Trump who would likely have jumped straight to officer took the coward's route. We will never know if he had the right stuff or not under fire. Bergdahl was an idiot and will be punished for that but he volunteered to serve.

Why does Trump get any respect in America?

https://www.vox.com/world/2017/10/16/16482270/bowe-bergdahl-guilty-plea-desertion-serial

"The desertion case was tricky to make. According to Bergdahl’s own account, confirmed by an internal military investigation led by Maj. Gen. Kenneth Dahl, Bergdahl’s goal wasn’t to disappear into the Afghan wilderness or (as Trump alleged) turn traitor and defect to the Taliban.

Instead, he had a plan to blow the whistle on (apparently largely imagined) "officer incompetence" and mismanagement in his unit. He aimed to run across 20 miles of hostile territory to get to a forward operating base (FOB) called Sharana and inform the general there about what was going on."

"But his Selective Service records, obtained from the National Archives, suggest otherwise. Mr. Trump had been medically exempted for more than a year when the draft lottery began in December 1969, well before he received what he has described as his “phenomenal” draft number.

Because of his medical exemption, his lottery number would have been irrelevant, said Richard Flahavan, a spokesman for the Selective Service System, who has worked for the agency for three decades.

“He was already classified and determined not to be subject to the draft under the conditions in place at the time,” Mr. Flahavan said."

I know the lads on the right will never touch this one, they just blank the whole topic area of a blatant rich-kid war dodger being the CIC.

Bill Clinton is somewhat vulnerable here however they won't touch it.

The idiot lads on the right considers a draft dodging buffoon who insults POW's and gold star families the ultimate patriot

If you didn't care that Clinton ran his scam to avoid active duty, then you shouldn't mind what Trump did. I beat the draft by enlisting. My number was 191, but I was already overseas when my number would have been effective. Shrewd, very shrewd of me.:banghead: Let us remember than dodging the draft during the war in Viet Nam was quite popular, especially as the war ran on.
But to answer the question directly I'd rather a guy not go at all, than be there and bail out when needed. The wealthy and connected find there ways out. Always, have, always will. Of course there are exceptions, but generally they ain't going.

BTW, I never would have been drafted. And now you know why I don't trust anything the government says. I bought their bullshit, hook, line and sinker.
N69 gives the results of the lottery held on December 1, 1969, for men born from 1944 through 1950. The highest lottery number called for this group was 195; all men assigned that lottery number or any lower number, and who were classified as available for military service, were called to report for possible induction.
  • N70 gives the results of the lottery held on July 1, 1970, for men born in 1951. The highest lottery number called for this group was 125; all men assigned that lottery number or any lower number, and who were classified as available for military service, were called to report for possible induction.
  • N71 gives the results of the lottery held on August 5, 1971, for men born in 1952. The highest lottery number called for this group was 95; all men assigned that lottery number or any lower number, and who were classified as available for military service, were called to report for possible induction.
  • N72 gives the results of the lottery held on February 2, 1972, for men born in 1953. This lottery was conducted for men who would have been called in 1973; however, no new draft orders were issued after 1972

Fair comment.

I did care about Clinton, he and Trump were cut from different cloths but became friends (before competition) I would expect partly because of this common history.

However Bill did not call for a captured soldier who's guilt or innocence was uncertain to be abandoned. Then for him to be executed as a coward.

Both Bill and Donald are high on the presidential psychopathy list. Bergdahl.. well soft headed and immature comes to mind but not bad. Trump is like Clinton, a successful semi-psychopath.

Why do we elect psychopaths? It is an interesting area.

Fallon explains: “[We’re] picking and voting for and enjoying the psychopathic traits, because those are the people that you think are the ones who can lead you.” Politicians, of course, are famous for their dishonesty, and so are psychopaths. Fallon calls them “world champ liars—pathological liars.”

But we the people are attracted to them, because, as Fallon points out: “They lied for us. They lied to protect us.”

The law required Obama to consult with Congress before releasing any detainees from Gitmo such as when he swapped the Taliban Dream Team for Birddog.

Could someone here explain to me and others what Congress said Obama consulted with them.

Thanking you in advance.

Hehehe. Viewers will note that I just put my finger on the root cause of the whole thing.

Note the leftoids spasmodic fear that we might go there.

So let's try this again, shall we: The law required Obama to consult with congress before releasing the gitmo dream team. Can someone here explain to me and others what Congress said when Obama consulted with them?

Thanking you in advance.
