It's not entirely because of the VP maybe, the talk radio folk are making mincemeat out of Obama and they really picked up steam when he did that same-old-liberal-garbage speech from that ridiculous stage... His campaign's response.... you won't believe this one........ drum roll...... to get out the minions to try to shut down the shows!! Freedom of speech Stalinist style, and he promised to do away with the old ways of doing politics, LOL.

BO's numbers are consistently worse among likely voters than the typical poll job. Personally I'm witnessing the racism among Latinos in California first hand every day, they might not vote for Obama and that could throw California to the Republicans...
 
Landis is completely correct.

McCain doubled down on a weak hand and he is almost certainly doomed now.

Romney was the safest choice, and Lieberman would have been a disaster (Lieberman, the social liberal? Liberman, who ran with Al Gore? Are you serious?).

A McCain/Romney ticket would have provided the defense/economic one two punch that the GOP needs to counter the populism of the Obama/Biden ticket (a populism that sold out a 80,000 football stadium - never saw that before in my life), and that has raised record amounts of money in small denominations (as well as large corporate contributions - Obama's team is nothing short of miracle workers at raising cash; a machine perfected).

Not only is Palin inexperienced, shrill and lacking almost any serious credentials, but she's in the midst of a scandal in her home state (she is alleged to have pressured for the firing of a state trooper as a result of him divorcing her sister). Who exactly on McCain's team is responsible for vetting, and did they even consider this? It's really quite unbelievable.

America will never trust a Palin one heartbeat away from the Commandeer-In-Chief position. Not a chance.


I will never understand McCain's choice here, and it will be the moment that history reflects ended his presidential bid, and maybe even his political career.
