gwb, I get it that people who are vaccinated don't get sick. How exactly are they threatened by people who are unvaccinated? Are the unvaccinated posing a risk to anyone but themselves and other unvaccinated people?

CHICAGO, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Five babies at a suburban Chicago daycare center have been diagnosed with measles, adding to a growing outbreak of the disease across the United States, Illinois health officials said on Thursday.
Officials are investigating the cluster of measles cases at KinderCare Learning Center in Palatine, said a statement from the Illinois and Cook County health departments. All the children are under 1 year old and would not have been subject to routine measles vaccination, which begins at 12 months.
The source of the infection was not immediately known.
Public health officials have reported that more than 100 people across the United States have been infected with measles, many of them traced to an outbreak that began at the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California, in December.
"These cases underscore the need for everyone who is eligible for the vaccine to ensure that they have been vaccinated," Dr. Nirav Shah, director of the Illinois Department of Public Health, said in a statement. "There are certain individuals who, because of their age or clinical condition, cannot be vaccinated."

Yup. "Science". The scientific method has been largely corrupted by pharmaceutical companies that rig experiments and government regulators.
But unthinking sheeple will let the gov't put anything into their kid, because..........science.
All we can ask is people to think for themselves. This is a big request from a nation who are happily told what to think by media (who are told what to report by FOrtune 500).
Simple. The vaccine is highly effective, not 100% effective. Anti-vaxers put everyone at risk by helping keep the virus alive. Without the unvaccinated, measles would have hardly anywhere to go, and so become eradicated.

Actually, as shown by previous posts, there are more anti-vax liberals than conservatives - by a slight margin. Anti-vaxxers are across all political spectrums - it is not simply confined to conservatives or liberals.
It may be a good time to mention that a pandemic on a lowly vaccinated society that does not have herd immunity does not only kill those who are not vaccinated by choice.
As a lowly vaccinated society won't have herd immunity, and 2 shot immunity can be effective in over 99% of those vaccinated, the anti-vaxxer, not vaccinated by choice, whatever group, are going to be exactly the opposite. 100% susceptible.

I continue to be amused at how republican politicians can get lured into these pointless debates. Is there some huge voting bloc out there pining away for a candidate who will not force vaccinations on them? They must be like all the illegal immigrants that republicans seem to think will vote for them.
