The Republicans can actually use this "bomb scare" to their advantage by launching an truly independent investigation that could open up access into the Democrats. They could use local and private investigators as well as the FBI. The Republicans usual strict interpretation of rules, ethics, and conflicts of interests will likely hold them back from taking advantage of another Leftist created opportunity.
