Who is a professional daytrader in this forum?

500 X 240 days = 120 000 dollars for a 10 000 $ account

that makes 1200% annual growth

give me the name of that professional, i think he's good

I must have missed some big changes in patterned day trading regulations or this boy is clueless. When I started 6 years ago there was a minimum $25,000 cash or equity requirement to trade more than 3 day trades in a 5 day period. I think it would be very hard to be a successful "day trader" on 3 trades a week.

Quote from kickboxers:

$10,000 with 20:1 margin in futures and stocks
10:1 in stocks

that is $200,000 in intra-day buying power.

Awesome. That's a goal to strive for. A few bad trades or your broker goes out for a few hours, with a 5% move the wrong way and your account is wiped out. Make it a 30% move.

That's what a pro would do.

from what i gather, 80% of traders in the market and in this forum are not professionals

based on the ignorance you display, an excellent job establishing yourself as one of the 80%.

congrats.

I think you misunderstood, he is talking about prop trading with a 10k account.
They generally give 15-1 or better(intraday)

If he's only talking about prop trading, then why did he make this statement?

"for swing trading and overnight...SEC margin is maximum 50% margin "

Prop trading is not restricted to 50% for overnights.
