A GIB (Guaranteed Introducing Broker) can provide safety advantage in the form of another party to go to/go after in the event of collapse. That said, If not a GIB, the only advantage I can think of is perhaps a bit easier to negotiate rates etc... a big(ish) fish in a small(er) pond.
