And the house. This usually peaks ~930 but lots of market data and load on the workstation perhaps affecting...

The real question here is how much do you pay for that speed ? I do have something like that in Gigabit Ethernet port, but it should be like Gigabit really and not half, you need SSD and better hardware. But some people from Eastern Europe can get that for $10 or so. Maybe $15 / month.

Comcast advertises the availability of "1 Gig" internet speed, and most older computers can handle that.
