Back on topic.
I talked in private with a guy who used to post here which had a fairly good run. He took a $2400 account where his initial trade was a $700 loss to $135K. This was day trading ES and I think it was over a 2 year period or so.
This was a retail trader with no professional background.
From what I could tell his method was fairly simple, but he did have a written trading plan he shared with me with hard rules for entries, day types and when to trade.
I have taken a 5k account to over 200k in a little less than two years trading primarily rockets so youre going to have a pretty difficult time convincing me they dont work. I'm really glad I did not try to backtest them first as I might have given up. It is quite amazing how we are accused of being obsessed but the Jack haters seem to be totally obessed in the opposite way. They cannot let go either. LOL. I have had it with this crowd. If you guys decide to move to a different venue please let me know. ciao.
Got it.Somewhere the conversation referred to seven figures as legit and 10 while arbitrary is a long period of success
Got it.
The OP stated having aquired 1 mil as a success or rather having "made it"
I would have changed the defintion to being able to live off your trading.
I remember years ago reading about day traders who managed to eke out a living with a 50k account. Each month they withdrew any trading profits and started the month with 50k.
There is no reason not to build wealth, you just spend less than you make.I don’t see that as a sound long term career move. if you aren’t building wealth then there’s lower risk higher return options in life.
Kris has been working for an outfit called Stocksholm since 2021. Apparently it's some kind of monthly signal service that tells you which stocks to buy and which ones to drop from your portfolio (for a fee of course). I'm guessing he also still trades his own account,if he can find the time. My personal opinion is 2022 kind of kicked his ass. His long-bias breakout strategy stopped working. He has severely wiped his presence on social media as well.Apples and oranges. Qullamaggie is a trader, not a fund manager running a Ponzi, i.e., he has no clients.

I'm not a day trader, more a long term speculator.
If you are a good as some of the posters claim to be then I don't see why you cannot live off your trading income and build wealth the same way someone with a regular job would.
But you can do both.living off your trading and building wealth aren’t necessarily the same thing.
But you can do both.
OKYeah. And if you can’t build a nest egg of 1mm in 10 years then you arent being properly compensated for the career risk you are taking.
