White Privilege

I think this makes sense. After I speak, there is usually nothing of any value to add to the discussion anyway.

Actually, after you speak, almost anything would add to the value.

In any case, gwb misses the point, as usual. This had nothing to do with racism but with white privilege, as does the thread. I'm not surprised that the righties don't understand the difference.

Canadian University Professors Make Sure White Males Are The Last To Speak In Class

"According to recent reports, certain Dalhousie University professors are floating the idea that making sure women and minorities are allowed to speak first on any given subject is an appropriate response to allegations of misogyny and racism on campus."

I am greatly amused by this. For the past several years I have worked at a Canadian bank in Toronto. Early on we held a weekly presentation series at a local university presenting banking IT and Financial topics.

We were told we were not allowed to say "Good Morning" when kicking off our presentations because at the university saying "Good Morning" was a form of micro-aggression. Saying "Good Morning" was one of the ways white men oppressed and looked down on women and minorities.

We stopped presenting after this nonsense.

Sounds like your local university was/is awfully fucked up.

The "micro-aggression" movement has overtaken universities all over Canada with support of administrators. Everything you do is deemed a "micro-aggression" that is offensive to someone.

Sadly the universities and their student leaders do not appear to have figured out yet that this means we will not be recruiting from their institutions.

With an example below from another Canadian University...

What happens to these students when they go out into the real world? I suppose most of them want to work in government or the non-profit sector anyway, so things will continue as normal for them.

A simple errand turned violent for Clarence Daniels this week when he went to Walmart for some coffee creamer and wound up in a chokehold.

Upon arriving at the Walmart in Florida’s Hillsborough County on Tuesday, the 62-year-old Daniels, who is black, grabbed his handgun from his car and slipped it into a hip holster underneath his coat. Watching this from inside the store was Michael Foster, a 43-year-old white man described by the Tampa Bay Times as “a well-intentioned vigilante.” As soon as Daniels walked into the store, Foster tackled him, shouting, “He’s got a gun!” Ignoring Daniels’ repeated yells of, “I have a permit!” Foster proceeded to put him into a chokehold. When sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene, they confirmed that Daniels was indeed a concealed carry permit holder and Foster was arrested and charged with battery.

Foster is lucky he did not get shot.

So Foster was arrested and charged with battery, as he should have been.

As for Daniels, anyone with a CCW should know better than bringing a handgun out in public where anyone can see. Technically, that's a violation of the permit law.

Thanks for the non-news. I suppose it was rather slow this morning.
