The news report said neither side wanted to push the matter. The cops left. Seems reasonable. People do lose their tempers, deescalating is the way to go. These cops probably had 20 bs calls at least up till that point on their shift. It happens daily in that job. Just because it makes YouTube doesn't mean its a big deal despite the current mantra. I can understand the couple not wanting to go further and just drop it, but I still feel there is a minimal responsibility on the part of the cops to issue a ticket or some citation for lying in a 911 complaint about an assault. They have plenty of time to do that for people rolling slowly through a stop sign or some either minor shit I figure this would warrant something but i bet there is no law on the book for making a fraudulent 911 claim and wasting cops time when maybe there are more serious things they could have attended to.
