The dispute Monday morning began when Christian Cooper noticed Amy Cooper had let her cocker spaniel off its leash against the rules in the Ramble, he has recounted. He said he asked her to put her dog on a leash. When she did not, he pulled out his phone and began recording.

What he captured would be witnessed by tens of millions of people: Amy Cooper called police to report she was being threatened by "an African American man."

"There is an African American man. I am in Central Park. He is recording me and threatening myself and my dog," she said on the call. "Please send the cops immediately!"

WOODSTOCK, Va. (AP) — A sheriff in Virginia has apologized to a black pastor who was arrested after calling 911 on a group of white people who now face hate crime and assault charges.

Shenandoah County Sheriff Timothy Carter made the apology to pastor Leon K. McCray Sr. for how his deputies responded to the altercation in Edinburg this month.

McCray said the group threatened to kill him after he stopped them from dumping a refrigerator on his property, but arriving deputies arrested him instead, driving him away as the group shouted racist epithets.

Two sheriff's supervisors are now on unpaid leave pending an investigation.
 
I have many friends who have cashed checks at banks simply producing ID if they allow 3rd party checks. Guess not if you are Black...


A bank has apologized for contacting police in an alleged racial profiling incident near Cleveland.

The statement comes after local media reported that a Huntington Bank employee called police on a black man who tried to cash his paycheck, resulting in the man being briefly detained by police.

Cleveland 19 News reported Monday that Paul McCowns attempted to cash a paycheck from a new employer on Dec. 1 at a Huntington Bank branch in the Cleveland suburb of Brooklyn, Ohio.

Bank employees called police on McCowns, who is not a customer of the bank, after the bank was unable to reach his employer to verify the check, the station reports. McCowns had provided two forms of identification and his fingerprint, in accordance with bank policy, the station says.

A white neighbor called police on 12-year-old Reggie Fields as he was cutting grass in his neighborhood as part of his summer business. A video posted to Facebook in June shows police arriving after a call from an unidentified neighbor. No action was taken by police.
 
Oh Emmit Till was so long ago...no one would lie about that again..

In October, a Brooklyn woman was captured in a viral video appearing to call 911 and claiming a young boy had groped her inside a deli. The footage shows young children crying as she's making the alleged call to police, who never show up. The woman was later confronted with surveillance footage confirming the boy never groped her.


Thank God the police never showed up...imagine what they would have done to the little kids and how much they would have scared them...
