Most folks don't understand that jail is not typically an option for most crimes. Rather, the government wants your money, rather than to spend money on you.

I agree, sort of. Typically jail is for the poor, with a few exceptions. Government does like to levy a fine or a tax in many cases. I was just pointing out the shear lunacy of his idiotic position that making a racist remark is an offense for which one should be imprisoned. That said I have no doubt the radical left are dreaming up all kinds of speech and thought crimes for which they can levy a tax.
