White House Calls for Actors to Condemn Johnny Depp ‘Assassination’ Comment

The White House reacted strongly to Hollywood actor Johnny Depp after he spoke about assassinating President Donald Trump.
“President Trump has condemned violence in all forms and it’s sad that others like Johnny Depp have not followed his lead,” a White House official said in a statement to ABC News reporter Katherine Faulders.

The official said that he hoped that actors would join the president in condemning violent rhetoric.

“I hope that some of Mr. Depp’s colleagues will speak out against this type of rhetoric as strongly as they would if his comments were directed to a Democrat elected official,” he said.

Depp made his comment to the Daily Telegraph, sparking outrage from Trump supporters.

“I’m not insinuating anything – by the way, this will be in the press and it will be horrible – but when was the last time an actor assassinated a president?” Depp said, after saying that “Trump needs help.”
 
Why would celebrities, who make money from large audiences, intentionally alienate 50% of them, simply to make a personal political statement. I should have posted this in the 'stupidity has no limits' thread. :D

haha. The MSM spin! He said the 2nd amendment people should stop her from becoming president, not kill her. He never asked anyone to kill her, unlike your brethren have done on multiple criminal occasions.

(CNN)A US Secret Service official confirms to CNN that the USSS has spoken to the Trump campaign regarding his Second Amendment comments.

"There has been more than one conversation" on the topic, the official told CNN. But it's unclear at what level in the campaign structure the conversations occurred.

The campaign told the USSS that Donald Trump did not intend to incite violence, according to the official.

The secret service doesn't have the luxury of using common sense, they have to investigate anything that can be conceivably seen as a threat to the office of the Presidency.

You, however, simply lack common sense.

No one should call for a President's assassination , even if it's just an opinion.


Trump Adviser Who Called For Killing Hillary Clinton Gets Front-Row Seat At White House

An adviser to Donald Trump’s campaign who said Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton should be shot for treason was given a prime seat at a White House bill-signing ceremony on Friday.

Al Baldasaro, a New Hampshire GOP state representative who advised Trump on veterans issues during the campaign, sat in one of the first two rows of seats in the East Room as Trump signed a bill making it easier for the Veterans Administration to fire employees accused of misconduct.

Baldasaro, in a radio interview during the campaign, criticized Clinton for the 2012 attack on a U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, and said she should be “put in the firing line and shot for treason.” Trump later praised Baldasaro.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Friday seemed unaware of Baldasaro’s comments about Clinton, and said Trump condemned all forms of public calls for violence.


Baldasaro defended himself after his White House appearance, calling his anti-Clinton statements “just an opinion.”
