Which way will you choose, more bottom up or more top down?

Oh I got a few answers/solutions but there are few voters and even fewer politicians with the common sense, integrity or back bone to implement them.Meaning it's too late to be pragmatic and start doing what we should have been doing all along?

Please elaborate on this post, if you will.

Immigration: Stop it, all of it. Close the borders until we get things under control. Using federal troops, even if they can only "watch", will make a big difference.

Wars: I was all for Iraq and Afghanistan but we've been there way too long. Leave Iraq completely and maintain only a couple of small bases from which to operate from in Afghanistan. We shouldn't even be in Libya.

Unemployment benefits: It's gone on too long, cut'em off. They'll find work even if it's "below" them. Stopping the Mexican hordes will help here as well. There is no guarantee that you can maintain a certain standard of living no matter the circumstances.

Defense: Concentrate on national security instead of playing the worlds police. We need the former and cannot afford the latter.

Budget: Across the board cuts including entitlements. FUCK the complainers. Balanced budget amendment. Congressional term limits. Line item veto. Eliminate the the special congressional retirement and medical benefits. Close the departments of energy, education and agriculture (among many others) Energy hasn't accomplished shit, and the others are local matters.

Electorate: You either pay property taxes, income taxes or you don't vote, Period.

I've had too many beers to think of everything at the moment, but I think you get the idea. Anything I left out, ask away.

....congress. Yeah I know, the source of nearly all of our ills and yet they're the only ones in a position to cure those ills. Makes you wonder if they even want to fix anything.

It's funny how times have changed. This little clip on Saturday morning between cartoons taught me more about government than some college kids know today. How sad is that?
