With the exception of Jack's stuff, which I don't use but find it often resonates in a way that makes sense to me, they're all useless, and way past their prime. Surf's drivel should not even be up there; equally useless, but with far less sophistication to the smoke and mirrors. The main value here comes from the more conversational threads where other traders discuss small matters of psychology and technique, back and forth. These are threads, not marketing money sinks. I've found a lot of great value confirming things that I was onto when people you respect simply share what they do.

Mods, is Rodney King surf's other alias? It'd be nice if that pathetic goof would just move on.

None of the above.

The best resource back in the day was from a poster who made a thread about Tape-reading the specialist. You could have printed his posts and used it as a manual for new traders, and some prop trading groups actually have.

Of course, that whole style has been extinct for almost 5 years.

Back in the day 2002 to about 2006, Dave goodboy's Surf Report made me a killing. It was truly the greatest run of all time recorded live on elite trader. If you don't believe me, take a look for yourself. Surf report in journals on elite. The surf report then lost it's mojo and myself and others averaged down into oblivion. But I have no hard feelings. I was a hobo before, and I'm a hobo after.

Maverick's dialog. That was one of those few threads that you knew actually was describing something "correct". But that technique was spammed by the WorldCo spinoff subLLCs and died quick. Started dying off for me in like... 2004. I think the reason is because it was based on a discrete "edge" that didn't really reflect the heart and soul of speculating. Edges come and go with changes in technology, regulation, and market character. Trading is a complex skill.

There have been many many other good discussions since that time that I feel better describe the ebb and flow of market behavior.

I agree about maverick74 threads. I learned tons about how prop traders do it. There use to be a guy here named metoxx who was very skilled and wise also.

Surf, in case this gets buried in multiple pages, I'd like to reiterate: With the exception of Jack's stuff, which I don't use but find it often resonates in a way that makes sense to me, they're all useless, and way past their prime. Surf's drivel should not even be up there; equally useless, but with far less sophistication to the smoke and mirrors.

Where are the "none of the above" and "other" choices

If I included those, I would get mostly smartass replies. I'm interested in who finds real value in the "elite of Elite."
