Your birth is absolute proof that speciation can happen in a single reproductive cycle.

LMAO, omg I spit salad on my kb. Funniest thing I've read in weeks! :D

We agree that the laying of eggs produces eggs, that produce offspring.

So, a chicken comes from what?

A laid chick egg....

Where did the chicken come from?

A non chicken egg?

Nope...not unless you believe in magic.

i think i already explain that to u; chickens or dinos or whatever, they all evolved from different creatures that held offsprings in the womb, then they developed their own mechanisms to lay eggs. that's it.

Quote from Sam123:

“Put simply, the reason is down to the fact that genetic material does not change during an animal's life.”

That statement is preposterous. Genetic material does in fact change during an animal’s life. DNA mutations effecting sperm and egg cells do happen and can be passed down to offspring and some of these mutations increase the fitness of an animal. Chickens evolved from a long line of non-chicken egg-laying creatures, including the dinosaurs. So the first chicken embryo growing inside the first chicken egg came from a pre-chickenoid ancestor.

Yeah, but it's not changing the genotype of the parent. That's the point. Sufficiently mutated egg/sperm cells resulted in a chicken, from a non-chicken bird. Z's use of the word "full-fledged" is an attempt to divert. The difference could well have been tiny. But a line could be drawn somewhere with sufficiently sensitive measurement.

I read your explanation, and right now I am driving universes through the holes in your theory....

So it was a 98% chicken, and 2% non chicken?

Or 51% chicken and 49% non chicken?

LOL....

yes, try to point out any discrepancies if u can...

Why are you laughing? You think the word "chicken" completely encapsulates the reality that it represents?

If it walks like a chicken, clucks like a chicken, is as fearful as a chicken, and lays chicken eggs.....
