Which are the most liquid commodities to trade

Hi

I am looking for info/ resources that detail the following

(A) the most liquid commodities to trade
(B) the exchanges that trade the highest volumes of (A)

Any guidance would be very much appreciated.

If you mean specific, I'd say 10 year note, mini sp, 30yr bond, and nq. I haven't looked at total monthly volumes in awhile, but I'd guess those are near the tops.

You ask why do I seek this information.

My style is geared towards intr-day trading, I can't think of any major advantages to trading illiquid contracts. If you know of any advantages and are happy to point them out, please feel free.

I used to assume wheat was more liquid than corn, however having looked at the COT report and heard about what others are saying, the reverse appears to be the case.

corn is much more liquid, wheat was the best to trade out of all three imo but not anymore.


for pure liquidity and ease of getting in and out you might want to try Pork Bellies, Oats, Orange Juice and Lumber. Lots of volume all day long so market orders are fine. Especially in the far out months.
