DeSantis is being hammered because his administration is deliberately hiding and falsifying data so he can drive his re-open political agenda. All the while he continues to mouth statements effectively pretending COVID-19 is not a problem. This, of course, at a time where Florida is facing an impending public health disaster. Florida is a state where over 20% of the population is over 65 years old - this will not end well.
At least Cuomo did not hide the data or pretend COVID does not exist. He addressed the problem every day with factual news conferences. Yes, there was a problem with the decision to put patients back into nursing homes, but the rest of the response in New York in the early days of the world-wide COVID crisis was aligned with global best practices to address the pandemic.
Florida still has less deaths than New York. That is the only stat that matters.
DeSantis is being hammered because he is pro-Trump. It's that simple.
Come back in October and let's discuss the numbers. New York simply was an epicenter first. New York should have served as a warning to DeSantis about what was coming to Florida - instead he chose to ignore it while driving his re-open political agenda while fudging data. The DeSantis administration had weeks to properly prepare the state and could have prevented the current situation. Now the residents of Florida will unfortunately pay for DeSantis' poor leadership.

New York will be wiped out long before Florida. Governor De Santis is a more competent governor than Governor Andrew Cuomo. Your liberal bias prevents you from seeing so. Atleast, we will have less extreme liberal Democrats voting on November 3, 2020. That is a huge plus.
