As it happens my business assistant used to work at Harvard back in the 90s when it initially was experiencing a flood of Asian students coming from from the Tigermom farm. She says that the personality assessments were always there. The whole idea was that strong personalities make leaders and that us what Harvard was about producing bla bla.
The all work and no play rich Asian kids were noticeably deficient personality wise due to spending the past 14 years of their lives on far stricter schedule than the rich white students.
The admissions system from the old times got adjusted. It is all good now.
