Where is the volume?

I used to trade futures and left to trade stocks for awhile and now I'm looking back at futures...am I missing something? I think I read that the ES has volume around 12,000-15,000 these days...didn't it like have volume in the millions? Am I looking at something wrong?

The average daily trading volume of ES in 2011 was 2.46MM contracts!

Lol that's what I'm saying when I click ES 1! it says like a few hundred a minute and on the CME site http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/equity-index/us-index/e-mini-sandp500.html

it says volume is 12,900...what am I looking at??

The trading session began at 5 PM central time, less than an hour ago. What do you expect volume to be?

Maybe you should stick to stocks.
