That's what I was thinking. Shorting corn is dangerous at this point, but I wouldn't go long just yet either. If there is a reversal underway, I think we'll get another deep down swing before prices enter a long-term uptrend.

That's always a viable play. Lots of money to be made if one can play the down swing and the reversal.

I'm not sure how the corn market moves seasonally, my call was the result of analyzing the price action.

for seasonality, summer in both SA and NA is generally bullish for price of corn, as the weather premium
