Well, that didn't take long now did it? Yep, he should not have resigned, but he did in fact say he was going to resign. Obviously a political ploy at the time to influence the Alabama vote. So much for that moral high ground. It was such an easy call for anyone with a shred of intellectual honesty about how this political game works. The republicans lost but the voters also did the drastic surgery that removed Moore who the dems planned to use as a rallying cry and cancer that they could point too. So the republicans are not hundred per cent losers and the dems are not hundred percent winners in that scenario.
Same dynamics with Franken. The dems are not hundred per cent winners by any means if they manage to hold on to him. That is a gift to the republicans that will keep on giving. And it is causing even deeper chaos in the dem party that is trying to get it together and recover from all the lefty sex scandals. Gillibrand is running around condemning bubba and franken and saying that he needs to go. Meanwhile, the men in the party are plotting to hold on to franken without consulting with the women- and to take a woman who has already been designated as the replacement and stuff her back in the closet. Let me know how that works out. Even if Franken goes, just that kind of talk about keeping him is sowing divisions and sending signals that there is no solidarity on the issue.
Could be a thin line between 3-D chess and complete chaos.
