I think there is little doubt that China will eventually dominate. Where is the Roman Empire? Or The British? It's just demographics and succession.

-Will depend on the extraterrestrials. If they are there to be friends with us earthlings and help us, providing us with free unlimited resources, giving us their advanced technology for free, then yeah, it would be bullish for the markets. But if they are like what Stephen Hawkins has predicted, it would be bearish, very very very bearish; it would be Armageddon.

Well if they had the technology to handle it or use it, they wouldn't care about our population size.
Who are these "they" that are supposed to find and announce.

Their model does NOT work. The reason why that you may think they work well is because you don't hear or know of anything horrible that is going on over there due to their incredible censorship. LOL Look at this way. All the rich and the ultra-rich, as soon as they made money, the first thing they do is move their family and move their money to or at least have their children study in a country that's been practicing western democracy since the beginning. Do you see the opposite happening? Do you see the opposite happening? Ultra-rich or the rich from the West moving to China and taking their money to China? Do you see Jeff Bezos moving his family and his money to China? Yes they might open shop in China but that's about it. Nobody wants to live there. Do you see Trump sending Tiffany or his youngest son Barron to go study in China? And yet Xi's daughter studied in America so does the beloved Huawei princess' son. There is still more net immigration to the West than to China. If China's model works so well, why doesn't anybody wants to live there? If the children is one's future, why are those Chinese who made it choose to have their "future" to live in the West and study in the West? The truth is not in what they say; the truth is in what people do.
But anyhow it is still very interesting that a thread that's supposed to discuss about potential extraterrestrials' potential impact on the market somehow still ended up talking about China. LOL

yeah, my theory is that 'they' - as in the ETs - would technically be the 1st to "reach out", bc even with SpaceX and Blue Origin's advances, etc, it still seems quite far off for them to actually have vehicles that travel light years/to the edge of known space though
which then maybe raises the question of if the ETs are so advanced, what 'incentives' do they have/are they gonna get to trade with us, if the tech advancements of the civilizations have such a wide gap
I'm very aware of what's happening there, but it's working in the sense that they've pacified their population, are rapidly becoming a major tech hub, and are somewhat successfully exporting their system/sphere of influence. The way they've applied cutting-edge technology to pacify, suppress, and unify their population is both amazing and frightening.
