No, but it's folded steel. You can't get an authentic/traditional or historical katana out of Japan without a lot of documentation and payments.
But it doesn't matter, because the blade I have can easily cut through a man in one swing. I frequently (weekly) practice tameshigiri to ensure I have the blade sharp and my technique is smooth.
