I haven't read that book, but the reviews on Amazon seem to support what I am claiming, namely that the planning for the post-war occupation was extremely unsound. I have to think a different strategy would have yielded better results, but that is certainly not something I can prove. Frankly, I am not sure having Saddam in power would be worse than what we have now or will have if we pull out.
