That feeling when you’re a teaching assistant and in your communications class you play a Jordan Peterson clip about pronouns and freedom of speech, hoping to spur discussion, and you then get reported and hauled in front of faculty and the manager of the university’s Gendered and Sexual Violence Prevention and Support Office for a ritual scolding, during which you’re accused of remaining politically neutral, which is deemed both a “problem” and in itself “threatening,” before being accused of “gender-based violence.”

They inform her that they will be off discussing with the university whether she still has a job. She asks what the process is. One of the other profs pipes in and says there is no formal process, it is just an informal process, and that there would only be a formal process if there were a complaint- not to forget that in the beginning they informed her that she was there because someone complained but exactly who is a secret.

On the plus side, that gal was very bright and polite and took no crap from them whatsoever. And she patiently listened to each of them try to cram every possible lib phrase/talking point into each sentence. In the long run this is the best thing that can happen to her. She is outside the trance state and they are in it. She sees that. No shame in her conduct or demeanor whatsoever. None.

I am approving her visa to immigrate to the US right here/right now. No formal process needed there either.
