nope, i was saying that iraq lacks the cash and people to develop a nuclear or biological arsenal that could be used to actually threaten the rest of the world. one bomb here and there (al quaeda style) frightens people, but all it really does is persuade nato to kick the shit out of some shitty 3rd world hole, like afghanistan.

on 9/11 you had a few morons get through a loophole (that loophole is the fact that US airport security is genuinely pathetic when compared to europe, for example) - which is hardly a threat to the world.

these people are so pathetically poor that they can't even afford real bombs - they have to steal airplanes and use the planes as bombs instead.

as for the "stealing" of planes, that was bin laden's network, not saddam's (although there is speculation iraq may have been connected). anyway, THE STEALING OF THE PLANES WAS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE ATTACK! they didn't just use them as "bombs," it was how they could execute their plan. they exploited our vulnerability. the hijacking of our planes was not because they can't afford their own! get a clue!!!!!!!

If anyone thinks Iraq has'nt got funds to buy nuclear goodies then they're mad. What do you think other countries don't smuggle Iraqi oil as Iranian or other.? These people have centuries of smuggling behind them. News was out on the weekend of millions of dollars worth of gold being smuggled out of Afganistan and Pakistan to Sudan. Apparently Iranians and a Russian supplied planes and expertise. The last 20 years Iranians and others have smuggled millions and millions of dollars worth of Iranian goods into the states to surcumvent the embargo. Also when Arab ,Iranian, and others want wives from these countries they have them smuggled thru Canada and Mexico. It happens all the time. Unfortunately asshole politicians pander to immigrants from the east and for votes allow them to bring their shit thinking with them. Without being racist but just looking at facts I am at this point convinced that ISLAM CANNOT EXIST WITHIN DEMOCRACY. The teachings and beliefs of Islam are contrary to democratic living. I have a friend who trades tankers of oil. He assures me opec wont rest until oil is at least $50 us a barrel. Their rational is bottled water costs 69c or so a gallon so oil is cheap.

personally, i've always felt that totally depleting fossil fuels from the earth is the way to go. no more middle east to deal with, just good 'ol american science producing nuclear and renewable energy.

if there were no countries in the world run by people like saddam, i'd bet the liklihood of sept 11 type tragedies would decrease. i'm not saying all countries need to be like america, but all countries should elect their leader, have free speech, and religious freedom. not having these 3 elements = problems.

while it is true, that angst may be ignited if we attack iraq, that's the price we pay for trying to make the world a better place. it's all about weighing the short term negatives against the long term benefits. if the people who want to destroy america have fewer and fewer places to relocate and organize, eventually they'll be snuffed out.

also, if a country's government can't control it's own people, i say LET SOMEONE TAKE OVER WHO CAN. if arafat can't control the suicide bombings (or doesn't want to), let israel take that fuck!n place over. either that, or palestine better get a new leader who can control what his fuck!ng country does. palestine should be forced into a corner with only those 2 options. either control your country, or let someone else run it that can...PERIOD.

Maybe the solution is Noah's Ark. We get pairs from each country and stick them in the states and then NUKE the fucking middle east and start again, Nobody seems to realize in the west that there are thousands and thousands of bin ladens and saddam husseins over there.

Terrorism is just another form of warfare, the military strategists call it "assymetrical warfare". The war has already started. The 9/11 attack was just the pearl harbor of the war on terrorism. Iraq is one of our enemies in the war on terrorism. Attacking Iraq would just be another battle in the war on terrorism, not a whole new war, and it wouldn't take much longer than a couple months for total victory. We have proffessional soldiers that are chomping at the bit to get it over with, especially all the reservists that have been called away from their regular lives.
