One does not need experience to understand the divide that I'm talking about. But if you want to know: I grew up in NC. Whites were the minority in the schools I went to (Wilson/Elm city NC). Some of my friend were redneck, some black. I lived out west for a while and am in NC as we speak. Stepped in shit on that one didn't you?

it's liberality versus government ...
you know leaving us to fail/succeed on our own versus sending vast sums to the black hole known as the federal government so they can "help us" ... and in doing so, secure a well paid, fringe-benefit filled, unable to be fired, job ..
now all we need to do is send a percentage of our carbon footprint, I think I'll send mine in the form of a pound of flesh
you can't blame the "government", hell the idiot who proposed mandatory paid vacations is likely to get elected. the idiot is also likely in favor of granting full citizenship to the 20-40 million law breakers, who we soon will be waiting in line behind for our "government paid for" health care.
And it is us, after-all, fixatating on whether powering water down the throats of those who have vowed to nuke US cities is "torture"

You say your a small government guy and yet you argue against the basic premise of wealth redistribution. I responded with a general reply of wealth redistribution in order to go deeper into it. You had problems with the concept at the start!
Also you say your a small government guy but you say that the recent downturn was caused by a LACK of government. You might as well say you're a conservative and then advocate liberal policies because that is exactly what you're doing! It's like you have zero knowledge of basic politics.

Taxes and wealth redistribution ARE THE SAME THING. Is this clear to you? So when you say you have a problem with wealth redistribution then YES I have a problem with that because taxes (redistribution) are what make our government work. That's why I brought up roads and school etc.
You seriously don't read anything I say. Ok, forget about the above. I am going to respond to THESE points because it is what I have been saying ALL ALONG.

YES! Just because I advocate small government DOESN"T MEAN I DON'T SEE THE NECESSITY OF BIG GOVERNMENT IN CERTAIN PLACES. I personally choose small gov more often than big gov, but I RECOGNIZE THAT BOTH ARE NEEDED IN DIFFERENT PLACES. Only an idiot picks a side and think it will fit in every situation. EXAMPLE: I don't think the government should be able to tell gays that they can't marry. That's big gov and I don't like it there. I don't think the government should be able to dictate to a company how many paid vacation days an employee gets. That's big government and I don't like it there. I DO think government should be allowed to regulate certain markets, that's big government.
Is this clear to you? Is it really so absurd that a person actually approaches a problem from a non partisan view point without putting a bias on the solution? I consider myself a small gov. person because that's the side I'm USUALLY on. That doesn't mean when someone presents me with a complex issue I automatically try to fit it into the small government category. THAT'S ONE EVERYONE ELSE DOES. That's why our country is in a mess! You have people coming up with the solution they WANT to see, not the one that is true or works.
Yet because I say I say im for smaller government usually and you see me advocate big government once you think "I have zero knowledge of politics". Let me tell you what I have zero knowledge of. I have zero knowledge of how people like you actually think there is one undeniable answer for everything (small gov or big gov). You actually think you can have a static way of viewing things in a dynamic country. I have zero knowledge of how a human being can be approached with a problem and automatically assign wishful attributes to the solution. I have been saying this for so long now, yet you still DONT GET IT.
