whats with the vix

Any body pay attention to the vix. Vix was climbing friday as was the whole market. Whatever happened to the inverse relationship?

I posted the same question and the answer I've got was that people were buying put options prior to weekend just in case... so the premium has risen.
Well, it sounds logical but I still believe this is one of the reasons we are going to see a down week.
