Just the fact that all you guys are speculating on whether there will be a rate cut should tell you the unequivocal answer.

Currently 7 against 37. Just trying to keep things straight and legit as all the hindsight traders on this board might try and vote after the cut.

Dow down another 207. Crap will hit the fan if the CPI numbers tomorrow are hot. High inflation in combo with this credit mess. Things could get nasty. On the other hand, cool numbers and continued selling could lead Ben to fire up the Helicopter. If that's the case, at least my international investments will continue to outperform as the dollar goes down the drain.

Ben Bernanke just came out with the following statement:

"I will cut rates continuously from this point forward until StockTurder3 returns to profitability. "

That being said: Unless the market trades SHARPLY lower i.e. the mid 1300's, the chances of a surprise cut are nil.

The FEd had a chance to telegraph concern in their policy statement on Tuesday. There wasn't even a hint.......

Agreed.
GDP will see 4% PLUS growth for Q2.

A final tally here Friday morning of THIS week as referred to in the poll

8 yes, 46 No.

Not exactly sure who was right since they did in fact cut the discount rate, but not the target rate. I initially intended the poll to mean the target rate, but I guess any cut should have counted. So congrats to the 8 yes people for hanging them out there.

I stand corrected. Giving credit where it's due.

Lots of famous last words in this thread. Oh, I cheated, I voted after the cut... :)

Quote from William Rennick:

A surprise rate cut will result in a CRASH on many fronts. This you can bet on.
