What's the least risky options writing strategy?

Read the thread...It was sarcasm

wrong you are selling in the money call and put
of the 6839 collected 6000 would have to give back so if market stay within range you get 839

that is the same as selling out of money put and call (it is easier to grasp the concept than sell in the money call and put)

@winstonwee, you're new here so you wouldn't know - but @destriero can smell the color, charm, and spin of an options trade through six feet of lead. While he's on another continent. And anesthetized.

As a certain Brit I know might say, he was extracting the urine; engaging in a bit of visual sarcasm. The point being that the obvious, glaring error would be visible to anyone who is even mildly clued in... which excludes the guy making the original claim. 4.0 average and all. :)

P.S.: Well, shit. The page didn't update for me, so I didn't see the other guy telling you it was sarcasm. Oh well.

Thanks, I'll look into it. Maybe you should read the thread.

Ohhhh, I see I was wrong on selling the deep in the money puts and calls - it IS like selling deep out of the money ones

So, I was wrong.
Nothing wrong for been wrong. The mistake is to stop thinking and never be wrong because then you won't get better.

The Internet is unforgiving but those with thick skins will benefit.

The error is @Saltynuts thinking he's not a rank newb. Dunning Kruger applies.

Quoting a long-ago friend, from memory: "The best way to get information on USENET is not to ask a question but to make a patently wrong assertion. If you can stand the flames, you'll get a terrific education."
