Whats the Difference between Isis and Democrats?

There doesn't appear to be much of a difference.

To be fair, confederate statues are at most what, 150 yrs old? We knock down buildings older than that. ISIS is destroying Babylonian shit 2000+ yrs old.

Yes, but history is history. Our country doesn't have the historic range that Babylon had/has.

I can understand removing the confederate flag from state buildings, even though I do not agree with that stance. But we're way out of control now, as some groups never seem to know when to quit.

Mitt Romney and his fellow cucks approve of the destruction of those ancient statues because they were white.

I see. This is confirmation then that Mitt is running for the Senate to take Orin Hatch's place.

Mormonism has not -let us just say- been the most welcoming place for blacks over the years. Let me know when Mitt is ready to start removing references to Brigham Young. I am interested in seeing how that works out in Utah during his senate race.

I dunno, I disagree w/pulling these things and smashing them to the floor but don't agree black taxpayers should maintain them. I'm a bit of a history buff, so even if I find these things reprehensible, they must be preserved to remind us of why they were so. I do however believe historical artifacts have a "value" beyond nostalgia and mass produced propaganda is near bottom of the barrel.

I say propaganda because I'm not so sure people 100 yrs ago were putting these things up w/the best intent of honoring fallen "heroes" so much as making a last ditch effort of rubbing the negro's & Yankees' nose on it. For reference look at the rise of the confederate flag's popularity during the desegregation movement. I suppose intent matters in this case, and dunno if Historians' take on the subject has been sought; which I feel should be the ultimate arbiters.

I do think however if native Americans felt like taking Christopher Columbus's or Andrew Jackson's statues down we're running out of excuses to prevent them from doing so without looking like hypocrites.

Now they want to destroy Mt Rushmore, boy that is going to be a good show. It wont matter to you because it is not old enough to be of historic significance.

Well, indeed history and the human condition are convoluted so it often requires a lot of spin, weaving, dodging, and outright bullshit for a group to appear that another group has been bad but they are without "sin."

Take Andrew Jackson for example. Yup, trail of tears, forced exodus of the Cherokee to the Indian Territory of Oklahoma. Not good. As ugly as it gets and the cherokee have plenty of bitching rights.

However, the Cherokee were also major slaveholders and when they went to Oklahoma they took their slaves with them. That too is not pretty.

Yeh, it's complicated.
