Whats the big hype with this Johnny Manziel?

wildchild, check out the play at the end of the first half where RG III makes this amazing run and dive into the endzone. The call may or may not have been technically correct, but I know damn well he doesn't make it against the Pats or Seahawks or Broncos. It was a highly literal application of a rule that wasn't designed to fit this situation. In any event, he had secured the ball before he crossed the line. I also have doubtds about assessing multiple penalties against them on the second half kickoff. I have never ever seen that.

For a capper, the talk shows here are saying there was really a second left in the half. Triplett got the time wrong. It is highly significant because then the 30 yards of PF penalties would have been assessed then.

This was a meaningless game, but like you said, this guy has messed up games before. I can't see how a guy can be a repeat screwup and still head up a team of officials. I used to think Ed Guns Hoculi was pretty good, but I have seen several games he messed up as well. I wonder if refs get steroid tested?

Couldn't disagree more triple-A.

Manziel couldn't hold Wilsons jock. Wilson is a winner, a good guy, a great leader, and a student of the game who spends his off day during the week visiting kids with cancer in the hospital.

Manziel is an arrogant jerkoff who lacks any leadership qualities, is a total dbag, and would rather hit the club all night than watch game film or help the community. His arm strength is questionable and his ability to read defenses and go through his progressions are abysmal. Manziel will be out of the NFL before his rookie contract expires.

All I am saying is they are both smaller QBs who can run. Wilson is far better than anyone anticipated. He is a smart guy who had the good fortune to land in a great situation with excellent coaching. Makes a difference.

I don't think Manziel is a bad guy like a Jameis Winston. He likes to party, but it seems pretty harmless. The stuff he did at A& M was awesome. Of course, he could run around and then throw it downfield to a 6-5 receiver who is playing very well in the NFL. I thought Hoyer was ok as a QB, but he couldn't do anything with the Browns offense the last few weeks, so it is expecting a lot to think a rookie could come in and do well.

Johnny Manziel has also gone by a few other names...

Tim Couch
Brandon Weeden
Colt McCoy
Spergon Wynn
Charlie Frye
Kelly Holcomb
Jason Campbell
Brady Quinn
Thaddeus Lewis

Could be and wouldn't be a great surprise. Just saying perhaps it's too soon to come to that conclusion.
