Whats going on with blue chips spending all their dollars?

If this across the board buying spree which appears to be happening is not a statistical fluke, it could be that a sudden decline in the value of the US dollar is expected.

Quote from peilthetraveler:

Might just be a coincidence, but it seems all the big players are spending all their cash the last few weeks to buy assets and they are spending that cash fast. They dont seem to care about how much they pay for an asset, as long as they get it.

Just today, 3m said they were going to acquire cogent for almost a billion dollars. Intel is spending 1.4 billion on a wireless chip company. HPQ and DELL are fighting over 3PAR (which looks like HP is going to get for 2 billion dollars). Not only that, HP just authorized a $10 billion dollar share buyback.

What in the world is going on that all the big players are so quick to spend their cash recently? Is it just a coincidence, or do they know something?

hmm interesting. we will hit new highs in 2 months... this coinciding with an expected drop in the value of the dollar... hmmm is this a coincidence? I think not!

All findings, however, tell us something about the questions being asked. Edison goes on to say, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Given the understanding that research does take time to produce benefits to society, what type of research funding portfolio should society strive for? The answer is highly dependent on the area of study. Some areas may require more time and more money than others.

Maybe the corporations are expecting inflation...

The a*hole Keynes stated it something like:

In times of deflation it is best to have money.
In times of inflation it is best to have product/commodities, etc.
