There are two Trump appointments that are going to do extreme damage. One is Kavanaugh, the other Barr. Let's hope the damage these two do doesn't turn out to be fatal.

It's bizarre that most everyone recognizes that Trump is afflicted with severe narcissism and has sociopathic tendencies, making him dangerous and totally unsuited to the Presidency; yet the Republican Senate and the Cabinet have kept him in office. In that way, they have unwittingly made themselves complicit with the wreckage he is leaving in his wake. Many are clearly afraid of him, and they should be.

The only ones blind to the dangers he presents are Bannon's strange alt-right, and the tea party folks who believe government is bad. The Tea Party has proven George Soros right when he said, in giving an example of his reflexivity postulate, "If you believe government is bad, you will create bad government."

Well so far, until Trump, we've kept it: a plutocratic Republic barely more democratic than the Founders had envisioned.
