Whats all this 'Bill Clinton is so popular' talk?

Anyone else hear this crap. The media is always running around claiming Bill Clinton is the most popular guy ever. I think he is a turd.

Lets look at the facts.

In 1992 Bill Clinton did not secure an outright majority. More people voted against him, then for him. Where is the popularity?

In 1996 Bill Clinton did not secure an outright majority. More people voted against him, then for him. Where is the popularity?

In 1998 the Congress impeached him. The press said it was going to be disaster for the Congressional Republicans because Clinton was so popular, but they won the Congress in the following election, so where is popularity?

In 2000, Al Gore, Clinton's running mate ran for President and he lost. Why couldnt Clinton get Gore elected? Where is the popularity?

In 2008, Hillary Clinton tried running on the Clinton name and was soundly rejected by the Democrat party. Where is the popularity?

In 2015, Hillary Clinton, is trying to run on the Clinton name again. Her own party may reject her again for Bernie Sanders. She is also behind in most general election polls. Where is the popularity?

We have seen these media types push this kind of crap before. When the media is rolling out guys like George Stephanopoulos and trying to pass them off as non-partisan objective journalists, you get this kind of crap.
 
I got to say, all things considered given the choices we have today, I vote for Brother Bill in a blink. Crucify me for it, but that's just have far down the rabbit hole we have gone far as I'm concerned.

the establishment is destroying itself piece by piece because they became disgustingly greedy. When the people vote out your policies overwhelmingly...just yourselves a favor once in a while and do what we vote for.

It has nothing to do with him trying to sell that pig. He was never that popular to begin with. It is all a media farce. The republicans impeached him and there was supposed to be this big blowback, it never happened. He is just not that popular of a guy.

He was popular enough that even though the republicans impeached him it didn't make much difference. Those were good times back then for us traders, especially cap gains taxes. He had no ideals.
 
He was extremely fortunate to serve during a period of prosperity with no major foreign issues. He presided over the rise of al Qaeda but people didn't realize how serious that was.

I recall a collective sigh of relief from both sides of the aisle when the Clintons finally decamped. Many democrats were extremely conflicted during his terms, as they loathed his personal conduct but none had the courage to publicly oppose him. Gore is the prime example.

They had a choice, principle or loyalty to their party's nominal leader even though they were appalled by his miscondict. They chose loyalty.
 
Wasn't a supporter at the time, but he wasn't born rich and powerful, which gets him some admiration points.

He did preside over the rise of Al Qaeda and shares responsibility with W on that.
