I suspect American patriots will have to get out their/our guns and kill the bastards. If we don't we will be "assimilated" under the evil powers of the Lefties. Though they lost this election, Trump is likely but a "bump in the road".

We're assuming that there's going to be scarcity worth eliminating people for once automation drives the cost of labor away. We currently have plenty of empty housing, waste 50% of our food, etc... who's to say that they'll even need to eliminate people? And even then, as you both demonstrate, how successful could they even be trying to take on legion with 2nd amendment rights? Is the risk worth it?

Collectively they proclaimed, "FUCK IT! Give me liberty or give me death". Paraphrasing a famous quote from the Revolution... "We must all hang together or we will surely all hang separately".

Will we get to that point in modern times?
