What will we do to support the jobless as automation continues?

The Universal Basic Income does make sense effectively.
In fact, why can't there be a society where people do not need to work jobs they don't like?
Even nowdays, many people are into "unusual" type of activities: I can think of artists, craft people, sport people, writers, animal carers, many solo entrepreneurs. Also, this type of society would need many researchers.
And think of all the aspiring traders who can't get in trading because work gets in the way : now they won't need to worry about a job, and they will be able to be totally dedicated to their passion.

DemoCraps are too smart to fall for that.
Once they have consolidated control, non-producers will not receive "UBI", but will be regarded as a liability to "be fed and housed".... when their "usefulness" has been exhausted, they'll be taken out behind the woodshed and give a ".22 behind the ear". Problem solved.
This is what is happening in some villages in North Korea: when people are too old to work or take care of themselves, they are "encouraged to commit suicide". Too old to work, too old to take care of themseves, or having an accident that makes one unable to take care of oneself.
I'd assume the non-producers may not be that simple to eradicate if the premise is that there are many more non-producers than there are producers.
Nevertheless, .22 rounds are a lot cheaper than feeding 'em for months/years.
Recall the Nazis... they separated out the "able bodied" Jews for slave labor. Didn't even go to the "expense" and bother to feed them. When the slaves had worked themselves down to skin-and-bones through starvation, the Nazis either let them die or executed them. Then, replaced them with "fresh" slaves to be abused.
"Useful idiots". Think about it. When the globalists have all the power they want, why support parasites draining the system simply to be kept alive? Of course if they told us that was going to be their policy, we'd be outraged. Wouldn't surprise me in the least, however.
Currently the "useful idiots" are serving the purpose of the globalists to gain and consolidate power.... all the ne're-do-wells on the welfare rolls, illegal immigrants from across the southern border and muslims... all sucking tit on the American tax payer.... not to mention keeping even more Americans unemployed. At some point, the useful idiots will no longer be useful, but rather be regarded as liabilities to be fed, housed, and kept alive. Then what?

The study was conducted by the Los Angeles-based management consultant firm Korn Ferry that interviewed 800 business leaders across a variety of multi-million and multi-billion dollar global organizations. The firm says that 44 percent of the CEOs surveyed agreed that robotics, automation and AI would reshape the future of many work places by making people "largely irrelevant".

If universal basic income would allow all these people to "pursue their passion" then how come we don't see all welfare recipients "pursuing their passion"?
And who would do the jobs that nobody wants? Who would pick crops in the hot sun? Who would clean the restroom when someone shits all over the floor? There's a lot of jobs that people do that they don't like simply because they need the money.
