What Was the Bullmarket Like?

NAVR:

11/25/98: Close at 5.88

11/26/98: Market closed for Thanksgiving

11/27/98: Gap up to 8.63, closed at 12.19 on short trading day

11/30/98: Gap up to 26.75, closed at 15

And that was just the beginning...
 
Ok, so here's a hypothetical--

If a new bull market sets in, the likes of which you all are reminiscing about, would it be wise for people to quit there jobs and trade? Now, mind you I'm not talking about plumbers with no knowledge of trading. I'm talking about people who understand stops, risk, and who will know when the game's over. Basically people who are knowledgable of trading, but lack the balls to fully committ now, or are too intimidated by the present market to dive in. Could that be the opportunity to strike it rich? Or will it even be possible to know the next bull market until it's over?
 
I had a cocky trader sitting beside me, and all he did back then was buy ANYTHING off the offer right at the open, then shut off his monitor at 9:33am... and walk away until 3:45pm, then sell everything at market.
After making his $5 million within 14months... That cocky bastard got wiped out by early 2000.

Well we've had wild speculative markets in the 1920s, the 1960s, and now the 1990s. So it looks like it will be another 30-40 years before a new craze hit. This isn't to say there won't be new bull markets sooner, just nothing like we've had in the past few years.

If I'm still trading by 2030, I imagine I should do quite well.
 
it was like a money tree , i would come home and tell my wife this has got to be a crime to make this much money this fast.
 
Trading options in fast market conditions on the likes of Qcom. Had to get 10 points infront of it just to get filled or flat.

Traded LU, CSCO, MSFT options only. Best single day gain was a bit over 90K. Worst single day loss right at 22K. Been taking blood pressure meds ever since. Lots of fun. Couldn't wait for morning.
