What tools are missing if I start a hedge fund today ?

THIS is what you will find to be the big problem. Shortly followed by the act that few people will ever build a profitable, statistically sound longterm track record.

There are already some threads on doing a hedge fund and finding investors (very very hard). You should go and spend time studying these.
