What to tell people I do instead of saying Day trading?

Somalia is one of the few truly free market economies in existence. No socialism! You are truly on your own. And fully open carry! If you are a good guy with a gun you would have lots of opportunity there. So it's more of a Republican destination than a Democratic destination. Europe generally is more of a Democratic destination as that is what most Democrats aspired to.

plus Somalia has a strong religious influence. It’s literally a Republican paradise!

Sorry to burst your bubbles but they have Starbucks, McDonald's, hotels (very nice ones too), airports, roads, streets and the likes in your so-called places with "diverse culture" as well. And people there are on cellphones too. Look who are the bigots spewing out all the prejudice and discrimination?

Are you saying the UK and the US are similar because they both have McDonald’s? Even the McDonald’s in the UK is different from the US.

...maybe keep your eyes on your children and your head on a swivel during your visit to shangrila...

Sounds like Republican Matt Gaetz would love it there; maybe he could be our ambassador to Somalia (after he gets out of prison). DeSantis is making Florida into Somalia's sister state. Win-Win!

"They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese?"
"Naaaa. They got the metric system, they don't know what the fuck a quarter pound is."

Crazy Question - I'm wondering if other traders have run into this? I feel stuck what to say when I get "what do you do for a living"? I really feel like keeping it to myself and not share that I day trade futures for my own account. I want to be minimal, since people associate the word "day trading" to gambling, high risk, etc. I feel it could affect my trading when they claim day trading is risky or don't think its a real job. The reality is that with proper risk management trading can be safer imo than buy and hold investing.
I really don't feel like justifying myself, especially to those 95% who don't have any clue about the markets and even those few that may have an idea about markets but know very little about trading. Also I've noticed most are just interested in your bottom line/profits, and not really your journey into trading which takes a lot of screen time, analysis, experience, patience, knowledge, losses etc.

Any input on this?

Thanks!

You: I daily forecast markets.
Them: You mean, like a weather forecast?
You: Yes, I'm like a weatherman, but for markets.

Traveling is a vastly overrated experience, in my experience.
Whether you go to San Francisco, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, NYC, Tokyo, Hawaii, Australia, Phillippines, Ireland, Canada.....it's all....literally....f'n the same.
All places....have airports, hotels, roads, streets, shops, cafes, Starbucks, McDonald's, nature sights, and people on their cellphones everywhere.
Nothing but stress, stress...and expenses, and expenses.
I'm So relieved to be back Home.

A stuffy education is only important if you plan on climbing the corporate, brown nosing, butt kissing, backstabbing, political workplace environment.

A classy watch is anything, but ghetto. If I talked about a fully Iced out Diamond Rolex....now that is black tacky.
I'm not an angry person or weird person or moody person. I just call reality for what it is.

It must be sad being you.
