What to tell people I do instead of saying Day trading?

I feel stuck what to say when I get "what do you do for a living"?


I've noticed most are just interested in your bottom line/profits

Tell them the truth. You are...a day trader.
What is so embarrassing about making money at something,

Do you come from a long line of school teachers or fire fighters...Something noble like that?

If they feel you are nothing more than a gambler....then show them something nice, like a 200K wrist watch -- or anything fancy, schmancy, that they cannot necessarily afford. They may hate you, but definitely respect you.

Why not tell them the truth. Strangers who ask you that at social gatherings are usually just striking up a conversation.

Nobody cares about your “journey into trading.” LOL

If you want to kill the conversation you can always start telling them about your “journey into trading.” They’ll quickly excuse themselves to the hors d’oeuvres table. LOL

You don't feel proud to be a day trader.
you are embarassed to be a day trader.


You should give up day trading, and do anything other than day trading.

Then disclose your actual job.
Then join the relevant non-day trading forum.

I've been a day trader since 1999 and am fkg proud of it. If you can't be proud of what you accomplish, then...

That being said, why would people hate you for answering their question? Not everyone has shit jobs who hate people with wealth.

Brag about....Giving 200K Away to some charity. If not spending it on something nice for yourself. What you do with your money is irrelevant.

If someone is poor or in lower financial shape than you....they will hate you regardless. You can never win them over.

I personally think spending 60K on a Tesla is a waste of money.
I personally think living in a home that costs more than 800K is a waste of money.
I personally think traveling the world is a waste of money.
