They have wrangling over what to do with the Confederate monument outside the courthouse in Gastonia, North Carolina. Even a lawsuit from the NAACP has been filed to remove the monument. The statue hit roadblocks in being moved earlier this year.
Well... .one local man proposed a solution --- just change the plaque on the monument to say it honors Colonel William Campbell who won the Battle of Kings Mountain in the Revolutionary War. Magically it is now a Revolutionary War monument rather than a Civil War monument... and nobody will want to tear it down.
Well -- the local Gastonia man said this "tongue in cheek" on the news... the funny part is that some local politicians took him seriously.
