what to choose?

Hi all,

I live in the UK and have been trading for a couple of years, I would like to trade remotely using a firms leverage but im not sure which company to go with.
I have found these so far,

Nevis
J.C trading
Alpha 7
G6 trading
WTFG

Nevis have offered .004c per share and take 5% of profit, Alpha 7 wanted 10% and offer 10-1 leverage, I have $3k to start my account can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Alpha 7 is not a trading firm. They are an educational firm. You do not trade through them. You pay them $3,000 and take their education and then maybe they will let you trade. Look on their website. It says very clearly that after you pay them money you never get it back and there is no guarantee that you will ever trade a share. According to their website they shouldn't be offering you anything except one of their education packages.

If they offered you 10-1 with your $3,000 without even taking their course then this is exactly what I said it was in another thread: A way to get a deposit from traders without registering as a BD. Firms that should require it's traders to be registered and do not are actively being shutdown by the SEC.

Steve is correct. We do not offer leverage. We only sell educational products. Once you complete your certification, your application is passed off to a hedge fund. So far, nobody has been turned down; However, it is a possibility. We do not guarantee any type of trading access. We sell educational courses only.

I also do not know whom told you we offer leverage. We don't offer trading services. That is 100% incorrect information. We have no trading platform or brokerage accounts or anything of that nature.

Nevis - good firm - same ownership as JC trading I believe. - reputable firm
Alpha 7 - this is not a prop firm. it is an educational firm similar to maverick or smb capital - you buy education, take a course and then get hired to trade firm capital for a private fund -different model from the rest on this list.
J.C. Trading - JC is part of a CBSX broker-dealer.
G6 trading - been around a couple of years - haven't heard anything negative.
WTFG - been around a long time - reputable - great rates - not so good customer service.
 
I've been doing some research. I was previously with TMGC but my account was closed. I'm now going with Alpha 7. I enjoyed TMGCs customer service and I like the deep education. Others seem skeptical but I've dealt with these individuals before and have had only good experiences.

I will be enrolling soon. I attended the webinar and thought it was interesting. I contacted T3. They asked for $7500 - 2500 for training and 5000 into a brokerage account which is leveraged. I contacted SMB and a few other places that offer training (I can use all the help I can get at this point lol) and decided I'd try the first course for 3k of Alpha 7. It seems more affordable. It seems similar to t3 type of remote online program except there isn't a series 56 requirement.

dealing with off-shore firms is such a hassle. I was with 2 different firms that got closed and am lucky enough to have gotten my money back. These guys have always been honest with me and given me good customer service with TM. I've learned the hard way that the market will get your money before any prop firm does.

Alpha7 is not a trading firm (although many people are obviously confused to thinking they are). According to their own website you are not guaranteed to trade a share of stock after you give them your $3,000.

Also keep in mind that after you give them $3,000 it is gone. From their website:

"10. What is the refund policy?

RETURN POLICY: All payments made through this system constitute a final sale and can not be returned or exchanged."

This is VERY different than trading with a prop firm where if you decide to stop trading you will get your account balance sent back to you.

Why not just take the Series 56 and trade your own account? You obviously are an experienced trader since you were trading at TMG before.
 
Thanks for all the responses, i will contact a few more this week to get some more information, all a bit confusing at first, it does sound like Nevis is my preferred option right now, but we will see.

Nevis tell me that i will be using the fusion software, i have used das trader and found it fine, I heard that Fusion is only accessible during pre/post and market hours, its not available to use at weekends and a few hours after the market closes is this correct?

CBSX firms charge 600-1000 dollars for registration, have a 1 year lock-up period and a deposit. On top of that, they make their $$ off commissions, not education. I want a good firm for education. honestly, i understand some of you care about leverage and the cheapest rates but I am looking for a strict program to help me learn to trade appropriately with less exposure. ive contacted about a dozen different firms to see what they offer and Alpha 7 offered me hands down the best approach - a thorough education by qualified instructor with academic and professional credentials plus a chance to be recruited. I understand the $2995 if for an education fee and not for trading & there is a risk involved in never being recruited but with the amount I've lost in my trading account, the 3000 fee is worth the risk for me. I plan on buckling down and putting myself into the course. Some places like SMB seem to have good training as well. The difference was $8000 versus $3000 and Jea's teaching credentials are better than Bellafiore's in my opinion. I haven't heard of anyone complaining. In fact, I know others who traded with TMGC that have already completed Alpha 7's program and were recruited so I am willing to give it a shot. I figure the odds of losing it in the market at this point are more likely than any firm taking my money and not giving me the education I paid for lol

as for the OP, i think Nevis would be your best bet given you are looking for leverage. Definitely not Alpha 7 or JC.
