What the f*ck happened (again)?

Because I believe in free-market...

They shouldn't cancel any trades and let the fat finger firm take all the losses.

I was flat after a long position before the drop but I feel this is just another part of the market.

I wonder if they will cancel the whole day of trading if there is a crash in the same magnitude of 1987...

I'm just wondering...

Another rip off for the little guy. Any of the big boys caught
with their pants down get to do Overs!! Neener! Neener!

I know TS users got hosed up on the feed.

However, were there any E-Signal users that experienced that 3-4 sec. delay in data as the price fell thru the floor?

I was using eSignal and did not experience any data delay, the feed worked fine.

Since no one has started this thread today I thought I would. :)

At about 3:08 PM EST today the E-mini's dropped like a rock from 1009.75 down to about 990.50 in the space of a couple of minutes.

All trades busted below 996, apparently.

I was wondering, too ...

Hi... I am looking for a brokerage house to sponsor me for the Series 55 exam.

My background: Headed to Columbia Business School in New York (in 2 weeks) to start my MBA program. Am an engineer, who has traded actively in the last 5 years.

Are there firms out there that would be willing to sponsor me for a fee? Are there any links for engineers-turned-traders out there? Or am I considered a career-changer and not worth the attention despite the strong quant side ;-) (just kidding :-) ) Any help would be appreciated!

what happened to all the dia, spy and qqq trades made during those minutes? are they invalid as well?

No, they stand. As theorized earlier, the fat fingers firm, knowing their own mistake, would be free to scoop up as much dia, spy, and qqq as they could during the confusion.

this kind of policy is an absolute invitation for any kind of fraud - don't you think?

tank the one market (and rely on getting out at least without damage) - while making profit in another market that tanks as well.

i am really no friend of conspiracy theories - but i doubt that this is pure coincidence - the same shit twice within 2 weeks.
