what software do professional money managers use?

I don't mean their trading system.
I'm referring to the software they use to manage the business side of their operations.

Like clients CRM, portfolio reports generator etc.
 
Given the amount of fog surrounding the numbers that the public gets to see, I think it's programmed by the CFO's 11 year old nephew, probably in Basic.
Not too hard to write out a string "NET INCOME... xxxxxxxxxx.xx *"
The footnotes have to be outsourced with oversight.

Most small hedge funds have 20 or 30 clients. A simple excel sheet, with a fancy printing format will do.

That's right. Not everyone is a billion dollar fund with a huge IT budget and infrastructure.
