Its probably because Pence said he had no authority to decide which electors to count, and then ignored the alternate electors and then counted the electors issued by secs of states, governors, and courts who ignored legislated law, made law (illegally), and/or ignored evidence of fraud in actual ballot counting. So Pence gaslighted us, saying he can't decide anything...and then decided everything. Remanding it back to the states that had sent mixed signals would have been the fair, logical, and probably Constitutional thing to do. That way, his argument, that he had not the authority to choose, would have remained consistent, and not a duplicitous display of cognitive dissonance. But somehow, Pence reasoned that the date Jan. 6 was more sacred than a fair election. For this reason he deserves scorn and dismissal from his post, and replaced with a more competent vice president.
